France

A kingdom where heredity is all. To be the first born son of a noble is to be born into a life of luxury, needing only to worry about the politics of the court. Second, and following sons are sent away for training, either as military officers, knights, or clergy.

To be born as a noble's daughter is to live a life sheltered from all but the most trifling of matters, awaiting the day to be married to an unknown lord, to secure political alliance for the family. More than one adventurer has had her start fleeing a confined and controlled life in France.

France as a country is as feudal as one could be. Chivalry is an honored virtue among the knights and nobles, although individuals may interpret chivalry is substantially differing ways. The French army is one to be feared, famed for extravagantly equipped knights, and poorly armored, poorly trained peasant ranks. The noble sons leading it dedicate themselves to the craft of war and strategy, having no other route to prove themselves.
