Ruled by a cunning warlord who seized power during a civil uprising near the end of the Last War. Called a Bandit King by many detractors, a reference to his life before taking control. He has spent the past decade consolidating his power, although Spain remains a powder keg, for he has no heir, and the old lineage is dead.

Ambushes, guerilla warfare, and assassinations are common to the Spanish fighting style. Most soldiers equipped with either short bows, or javelins and shields, and they make good use of the light horse for hit and run maneuvers. Those of more training will frequently fight with a rapier - a style that favors individual fights more than massed combat, and the Spanish forces will do all they can to avoid a fair fight.
