The One
In the Old World, there is only one recognized god, known as The One Above, The One Beyond, or simply The One.
The One has a number of different aspects that are worshipped independently of him. None directly pray to The One, merely his aspects. Some devote themselves entirely to a single aspect, some worship them all, others, simply follow the ones as they are relevant within their life.
The One, and his aspects, do not directly speak or interfere. Stories tell that his influence is felt through long chains of cause and effect, with no definitive sign of divinity.
Divine power is channeled by faith, not necessarily directly given by a deity. Combined with the deities either inability or unwillingness to interfere, this can result in two priests of the same aspect having wildly differing views on what is right, or should be done, and both with the divine power to back their word.
The One Above has eight major aspects that are recognized just about anywhere in Europe, with hundreds or thousands of minor aspects. Some respect the minor aspects as true divinity, some believe they are lesser, or not even real at all.
The One, and his aspects are said to be impossible to display, to visualize, and simply follows a reality considered impossible to conceive.
