Ulric

Ulric, Quartermaster
Ulric is a broad man, and close friend of Durnin.

Although they served together in the Last War, Ulric does not have the martial skill nor the strategic mindset that Durnin possesses. Rather, he has a passion for logistics, and perhaps more importantly, does not seem to get worn down by the hundreds of glares he receives daily. The man does not seem bothered by those who harbor hatred for him, and a great many indeed do. This provides a crucial tool to Durnin, as information is often structured that Ulric announces bad news, before being overruled by Durnin to a more favorable set of conditions, building the colonist's loyalty to Durnin even while the situation may worsen.

Ulric has more loyalty than Durnin does to the English Magocracy, having family trained in the arcane arts, but possesses no arcane capabilities himself. That said, it seems clear to most that given the choice between following his country, or following Durnin, his former sergeant holds a greater command of his loyalty. Ulric comes from a well off family, easily capable of living a life of luxury in England, but has chosen to come to this new land of hardship, determined to play his role in taming the savage landscape.
