- Land is spotted! The boat arrives after several weeks, transferring over to rowboats for the final bit. Soleira arrives in the first rowboat, Arelor arrives in one of the middle boats.
- After greeting Ulric and Durnin, Soleira gives Durnin the letter of authority from the Vyshaans, Haldanes, Blackthornes, and Darlingtons, detailing her and Arelor's new positions as co-governors.
- Durnin gives a speech as all the new colonists make land and supplies are unloaded. The resident colonists are doing the natural hazing that comes of veterans being assigned newbloods. --- DORN STAYED!! :PLEAD:
- They go to discuss in the Command Tent. Durnin doesn't trust them at first glance, of course. Arelor brings his combat expertise and leadership skills, Soleira brings her mercantile contracts and magic skills... and offers to teach people magic.
- Velka watches from a watchtower. He does not glare with hatred, but is not friendly.
- The camp's previous arcanist was kidnapped and killed by the Scales while trying to parse a glyph on a Gate. Kylax says he was sacrificed in a ritual to cleanse water.
- A table in the middle of the tent has a map carved into it along with several symbols marking locations.
- There is a Blissbark grove equidistant between Eastern Isles and Cragwater - about a days rafting. We'd like to harvest but it hasn't been secured yet
- Negotiations seem impossible due to the mercenary nature of the Spaniards, and we can't afford to bribe them.
- The other side has mostly just been warding us off instead of claiming it. They must lack the skill or the protection.
- Usually about a dozen sent each time from either side. Too many people together gets the Eastern Isle Scales together.
- Cragwater only has rafts. Nobody has familiarity with shipwrighting. The last attempt to make a boat failed, and a group that successfully stole a canoe were killed by the Scales before they could make it back.
